Liliya Olkhova

Writer · Founder of ANIMA

Liliya Olkhova is a writer and the founder of ANIMA — exploring the feminine experience as a path of return to oneself.

Born in Ukraine and based in France for over two decades, her life is shaped by movement — across countries, languages, and inner states.

At twenty-three, she left for France alone, with no defined return, guided only by an inner sense of direction.

Mother of three, with whom she has traveled extensively, including two journeys around the world. These experiences have deeply informed her perception of time, presence, and freedom.

Her relationship to language is central to her work. Speaking six languages, she moves fluidly between different cultural and emotional landscapes, developing a sensitivity to what exists beyond words.

Parallel to her writing, she has built an international career in the fashion industry, traveling regularly between cities such as Paris, Milan, New York and Moscow. This constant exposure to different environments has refined her understanding of identity as
something fluid, constructed, and deeply personal.

Her work does not emerge from theory, but from lived experience.

Writing, for her, is a practice of observation — a way to capture inner states with precision and clarity. Over time, this practice has developed into a distinct voice: minimal, embodied, and attentive.

ANIMA is not conceived as a project, but as a space — a philosophical approach to the feminine essence, where presence, silence, and personal experience take precedence over method.

Through her books and visual work, Liliya creates objects that invite a different rhythm:  slower, more conscious, and intimately connected to the self.

She writes in Ukrainian, French and English.

« Revenir à soi » is her first book.
