You are emotion
Emotional emptiness is rarely experienced as emptiness. When we are inside it, nothing seems missing. Life continues. We smile. We work. We love. We move from one responsibility to the next. From the outside, everything appears normal.
Sometimes survival even looks like happiness. You smile because you must. You cry only when the pain becomes impossible to ignore. You care for others long before learning how to care for yourself. Motherhood becomes a life buoy. Work becomes an oxygen mask. Routine becomes identity. And repetition slowly begins to feel like life itself.
The dangerous part is this: nothing feels wrong. The days continue. The roles continue. The performance continues. Until one day, an emotion breaks through.
Not a thought. Not a decision.
An emotion.
Raw. Uncontrolled. Alive.
And suddenly it becomes clear that exhaustion was never caused by the number of responsibilities carried each day. Something else was missing: a connection, a presence, a relationship with oneself.
Because emotions are not weakness. They are signals. The invisible border between the world and the self. And often, they are the first sign that someone is finally finding their way back home.
